Dr. Martin J. Steinbach (above) is widely acknowledged as a tireless and dedicated champion of vision health research across the country.
On Saturday, June 24, 2017, Dr. Martin J. Steinbach passed away after a severe stroke.
Marty was a Senior Scientist in the Donald K. Johnson Eye Institute at UHN's Krembil Research Institute; Research and Promotions Director in the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences at University of Toronto; and a Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychology at York University. Marty served as the Director of the Vision Program and Vision Science Research Program at Krembil (formerly Toronto Western Research Institute) until 2013; he guided this Program to the forefront of Canada's vision research community. He will be sorely missed.
Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Martin J. and Eric Jon Steinbach Vision Science Research Fund for the Donald K.
