As an Associate Professor of Medicine and Scientist at Krembil Research Institute, Dr. Chandran’s translational research laboratory focuses on understanding factors that lead to the development of psoriatic arthritis, a specific form of arthritis that develops in patients with psoriasis, a common skin disease. He has identified genes, proteins and small molecule markers that indicate the presence of arthritis by investigating blood, skin and joint fluid from patients. He has also identified markers of severe joint damage in psoriatic arthritis. His clinical research has identified improved methods of clinically assessing patients with psoriatic arthritis.
