Dr. Sarah Ferguson is a Gynecologic Oncologist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (University Health Network), a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Toronto, and an Associate Scientist at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, Mount Sinai Hospital. She obtained her medical degree at Queen’s University in 1997 and then completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at the University of Toronto in 2002. Subsequently, she pursued a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Ferguson is currently the Director of Research for the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University Health Network and the Ontario Gynecologic Cancers Lead for Cancer Care Ontario. Her clinical and research interests include: improving surgical techniques and patient outcomes, survivorship and supportive care as well as hereditary cancer syndromes in gynecology, in particular Lynch syndrome. Dr. Ferguson is currently opening a multi-disciplinary trial investigating bariatric surgery for fertility maintenance in endometrial cancer patients who wish to conceive. Dr. Ferguson is also Lead Investigator of the Exploratory Cohort for the CANSTAMP trial investigating new approaches to front-line therapy in serous and/or p53 abnormal/mutant endometrial cancer.
