Martin Ingelsson, MD, PhD, is a Senior Scientist at the Krembil Research Institute and a clinician scientist at the Toronto Western Hospital / University Health Nertwork. The main aim of Dr. Ingelsson’s research is to increase our understanding of neurotoxic mechanisms in the Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia brain and utilize this knowledge to develop novel therapeutic applications for these disorders. The research has a pronounced translational character where both immunotherapy and gene therapy approaches against pathogenic protein species are being evaluated on cell and animal models for the respective disorders.
