Dr. McGilton's research program integrates research, practice and policy in long-term care and rehabilitation care. Her research program focuses on three complementary objectives: 1) understanding and improving interactions between staff and residents in long-term care; 2) enhancing the supportive leadership capacity of staff in long-term care; and 3) developing interdisciplinary care delivery models for individuals with cognitive impairment. The results of this research program have led to innovations in models of care and positive outcomes for patients and staff.
