Warren Lewin

Warren Lewin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Division of Palliative Care, at the University of Toronto, the Site Lead for the Palliative Care program at the Toronto Western Hospital, and a Senior Faculty member with VitalTalk.

He completed his family medicine training at the University of Toronto and a one-year palliative medicine fellowship at Harvard University. He feels privileged to teach and learn from clinicians and trainees and speaks nationally and internationally about serious illness communication and burnout.

He is the founding Director of The Conversation Lab, a University Health Network hub for innovation, teaching, and research backed by evidence and setting a benchmark for how front-line clinicians deliver honest, clear, empathic communication.

I am interested in understanding how clinicians build and hone communication competency to drive high-quality goal-concordant care.
