Dr. Yau's translational and clinical research program is directed at heart failure, encompassing genetic and cell-based therapies for advanced heart failure. His lab has performed a number of clinical trials of stem cell therapy for heart failure due to multiple heart attacks as well as end-stage heart failure requiring implantation of a mechanical circulatory support device (LVAD).
