The overall goals of Dr. Flint’s research have been to improve the outcome of depression in older adults and to improve our understanding of anxiety in later life. Dr. Flint has completed studies that examined the short-term and long-term treatment and outcome of refractory depression, anxious depression, and psychotic depression. Dr. Flint also led studies on late-life anxiety, including the biology of panic attacks in later life and the relation between falls and affective states in older adults.
