The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is Canada’s federal funding agency for research related to health. CIHR’s mandate is to “excel in the creation of new knowledge and its translation into improved health for Canadians, more effective health services and products and a strengthened Canadian health care system.” To support knowledge translation, CIHR funds research in Canada and Canadian researchers abroad through scholarships and fellowships.
In the past year, 22 UHN trainees received awards from CIHR, up from 12 in 2017! That includes five Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarships, an outstanding achievement for these scholars and UHN. The ORT extends congratulations to each award recipient!
