Dr. Mary Gospodarowicz received the American Society for Radiation Oncology’s Gold Medal

Dr. Mary Gospodarowicz, Medical Director and radiation oncologist at PM Cancer Centre, has been selected as the recipient of the American Society for Radiation Oncology’s Gold Medal—the Society’s highest honour. The award recognizes distinguished members who have made exceptional contributions to the field of radiation oncology within the realms of research, clinical care, teaching and service.
Dr. Gospodarowicz’s research focuses on radiation therapy for various cancers, including genitourinary, prostate, bladder, testicular and blood cancers. Her research has resulted in the publication of several influential articles that have helped shape radiation medicine and clinical practices around the world.
The award will be added to Dr. Gospodarowicz’s long list of distinctions, which most recently include the 2013 Janeway Medal from the American Radium Society and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the European Society for Radiotherapy & Oncology.
