Four members of UHN were recently presented with the Province’s highest honour—the Order of Ontario. All four were commended for their diverse and significant contributions, which have advanced and promoted excellence in health care in Ontario.
PM Clinical Researcher Dr. Patrick Gullane, a preeminent head and neck surgeon at PM, was presented with the award in honour of his contributions to innovation within the field of surgical oncology.
TGHRI Senior Scientist Dr. Gary Levy was recognized for his pioneering work in the use of living donor liver transplants. He was also acknowledged for his role in establishing UHN’s Multi-Organ Transplant Program as one of the largest in the world.
PM Clinical Researcher Dr. Hans Messner was honoured for his seminal work in bone marrow and stem cell transplantation. His contributions have helped to transform these experimental treatments into live-saving therapies for patients with blood cancers.
Vice-Chair and Member of the Board of Trustees at UHN, Dr. Dhun Noria received the award in appreciation of her unwavering commitment to excellence in health care, which has had a significant impact on Ontario’s health care system.
