The Canada Research Chair program provides funding that supplements researcher salaries and helps subsidize research costs, such as graduate student salaries. These stable funds serve to attract and retain the world's most accomplished and promising scientists. Canada Research Chair holders are expected to improve our depth of knowledge and quality of life, strengthen Canada's international competitiveness, and help train the next generation of highly skilled people through supervision, teaching and collaboration.
